Trust and governance
Human judgement stays in control.
Mak supports people decisions with grounded guidance and clear escalation paths. It does not make decisions, access private conversations, or act without a person reviewing the outcome.
Grounded in your policy, not a generic model.
Every recommendation Mak gives a manager is grounded in two things: your organisation's own policies and the relevant legislation for your jurisdiction, including the Fair Work Act. Mak reads the documents you upload, so guidance reflects how your organisation actually operates, not an industry average.
- Your organisation's policy documents
- Current workplace legislation
- Your organisation's escalation pathways
Privacy by design
HR sees the signal, not the conversation.
When a manager escalates a matter, HR receives a category-level summary, for example "Performance and underperformance, one active matter". The content of the manager's conversation with Mak is never shared. This protects the manager's ability to ask honest questions, while still giving HR the early visibility it needs.
- Managers can ask questions freely, without their conversation being visible to HR
- HR sees category and status, not transcript content
- Escalations are opt-in and manager-initiated
- Nothing is auto-actioned without a person reviewing it
Support for the decision. Not a replacement for it.
Managers stay accountable
Mak supports the decision, it does not make it.

Drafts stay editable
Every document Mak produces is a draft, not a final action.
